Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foaming polyethylene resin composition for metallic tube coating that causes no metallic corrosion and is rich in thermal insulation properties and shock absorption and provide metallic tubes coated with foamed polyethylene using the same. SOLUTION: This foaming polyethylene resin composition is prepared by formulating 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a chemical foaming agent containing the residual impurities comprising halogen and halogen compounds and 0.01-1 pt.wt. of an impurity-capturing agent to 100 pts.wt. of a polyethylene resin. The metallic tube coated with foamed polyethylene is produced, for example, by extruding the foaming polyethylene resin onto the surface of the preheated metallic tube, or extruding foaming polyethylene resin composition through an extruder into a sheet to form a foamed sheet, cutting the sheet in the same length as the outer circumference of the metallic tube, then rounding the sheet to a cylinder to cover the metallic tube.
