To provide a method for manufacturing a golf ball wherein the roundness of a ball body can be prevented from being degraded after an intermediate layer of the ball body is formed.
The golf ball 1 includes a core 2, a cover 3, and an intermediate layer 4. The layer 4 is formed by applying a latex composition to the surface of the core 2. For forming the layer 4, at first the surface of the core 2 is polished, following which a coagulating agent is applied to the surface of the core 2. The core 2 is then dipped in a latex composition. The core 2 is pulled up from the composition and dried to form a film from the latex remaining on the core. Next the core 2 having the film is heated to crosslink the film. Instead of dipping the core in the latex, a latex composition may be applied to the surface of the core 2.
