Title:
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012075989
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a honeycomb structure with a capturing layer of high porosity arranged on the surface of a partition wall.

This method for manufacturing a honeycomb structure comprises the following steps: a step of making deposition of mixed particles to the surface of an internal partition wall of each cell of a sealed honeycomb base material by making an inflow of the mixed particles containing a ceramic particle and a pore-forming material into the residual cells from the end of the inflow side of the sealed honeycomb base material, and a step of obtaining the honeycomb structure by burning down the pore-forming material through heating the sealed honeycomb base material with the mixed particle deposited on the surface of the internal partition wall of the residual cells, thereby forming a capturing layer on the surface of the partition wall. In this case, the sealed honeycomb base material includes not only the honeycomb base material with the porous partition wall which compartmentalizes a plurality of cells serving as the flow path of a fluid, but also a sealed part arranged in the opening of the specified cells at the end of the fluid inflow side and in the opening of the residual cells at the end of the fluid outflow side.
