To provide a method for manufacturing instant coffees having long aftertaste of bitterness in mouth after drinking.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing instant coffees includes the step of adjusting an irradiation surface so that a proportion of an absolute value of a laser irradiation point area indicated by cmto an absolute value of a total bulk volume of instant coffees indicated by cmbecomes 0.02 or more and 2.00 or less, and irradiating laser beam having a wavelength of 9.3 μm or more and 10.6 μm or less to the irradiation surface.SELECTED DRAWING: None
