Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing a molded article excellent in heat resistance by using a polymer excellent in moldability, and an optical injection molded article excellent in heat resistance and moldability.

In the method of manufacturing the molded article, a cycloolefinic polymer is injection-molded which contains 20-50 wt.% of a repeating unit originating from dicyclopentadiene per 100 wt.% of the whole repeating unit, and 50-80 wt.% of a repeating unit originating from a specific norbornene type compound per 100 wt.% of the whole repeating unit, and of which the polystyrene converted weight average molecular weight due to gel permeation chromatography is 35,000-55,000. The optical injection molded article is also disclosed.
