The method for manufacturing the optical filter for the display has: a process for forming hard coat layers 303 so that a metal conductive layer 302 is exposed in the form of a band on both ends intermittently in a running direction (arrow a) and in the running direction by intermittently applying application liquid for forming the hard coat layer on the metal conductive layer 302 under running of a long transparent film 301 formed with the mesh-like metal conductive layer 302 on the surface; and a process for forming a reflection prevention layer 304 by continuously applying the application liquid for forming the reflection prevention layer so as to cover the hard coat layers 303 and the metal conductive layer 302 exposed between the hard coat layers 303.
