Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing an oxide superconductive wire capable of reducing A.C. loss and of preventing degradation of a superconductive characteristic.

The method of manufacturing the oxide superconductive wire 100 fills a first pipe-like member formed of silver with precursor powder to be formed into an oxide superconductor 110. A first metal coating layer formed of a first metal different from silver is formed on the outside surface of the first pipe-like member. A second metal coating layer formed of a second metal different from silver and the first metal is formed on the outside surface of the first metal coating layer. A plurality of single-core wires are inserted into a second pipe-like member 120, a multi-core wire is processed into a tape-like form, the tape-like multi-core wire is heat treated, the precursor powder is formed into the oxide superconductor 110, and the first and second metal coating layers are formed into an insulation material. Solid solubility of the first metal into silver is lower than that of the second metal into silver. The thickness of the first metal coating layer 30 is smaller than that of the second metal coating layer 40.
