In the manufacturing method of the plasma display panel (PDP) provided with a pair of substrates arranged in opposition with a display electrode and a dielectric layer formed on one of the substrates, the display electrode contains low-melting-point glass, and a process of forming the display electrode includes a step applying paste on the substrate and a step calcinating the paste, and a layer restraining diffusion of silver ions (Ag+) onto the substrates at the calcination step is formed.
