A method of manufacturing a printer includes: a first duty value measuring step of measuring a first duty value as the duty value of a PWM signal S3 when a paper feed motor 12 is rotated at a predetermined first rotating speed while the PWM-controlled paper feed motor 12 is connected to an intermediate shaft 20 to which an encoder scale 32 is fixed and a paper feed roller 10 is separated from the intermediate shaft 20; and a second duty value measuring step of measuring a second duty value as the duty value of the PWM signal S3 when the paper feed motor 12 is rotated at a first rotating speed while the paper feed motor 12, the intermediate shaft 20 and the paper feed roller 12 are connected together.
