Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a resin particle dispersion capable of preparing an ink for an inkjet having reactivity and excellent in discharge stability.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing a resin particle dispersion used for an ink for an inkjet. It includes: a neutralization process of adding base to a mixed solution containing a polymer A having an acid value of 100 mgKOH/g to 700 mgKOH/g and water so that a neutralization amount becomes 0.2 to 0.5 to obtain a polymer A' solution containing a polymer A' having an unneutralized acid amount of 50 mgKOH/g to 150 mgKOH/g; a dispersing process of mixing the polymer A' solution and α,β-unsaturated hydrophobic compound to obtain a monomer dispersion; a polymerization process of polymerizing the α,β-unsaturated hydrophobic compound to form a polymer B and obtaining a resin particle dispersion containing resin particles containing the polymer A' and the polymer B; and a pH adjustment process of adjusting pH of the resin particle dispersion to 7 or more.
