PURPOSE: To produce smoking articles which generate aerosol by integrating a combustion element and a sleeve inserted with an aerosol generating cartridge. CONSTITUTION: The thermal insulating material fiber sleeve 65 formed around a plastic tube 67 and a tobacco material rod 69 are cut to plural sections 73, 74 of prescribed lengths. The section 73 is held between the sections 74 and is aligned in an axial line direction and is wrapped with a paper wrap. Thereafter, the sections are cut, by which a jacket module 76 consisting of the tobacco material section 78 and the end section 80 of the thermal insulating material sleeve is obtd. Next, the jacket segment 82 obtd. by cutting the section 78 in an intermediate point is supported by a supporting body 84 and the tobacco rod 89 of the segment 82 is thrusted through by the front end 88 of a rotary spindle 86, by which a longitudinal hole 90 is formed. After the rod is inserted into a tube 87, the rod is pulled out. A cartridge B consisting of an aerosol generating capsule 10 and a combustion element 8 is then pushed and fitted into the segment 82 and the tube 87 is discharged through the hole 90 of the tobacco rod 69. Next, a mouthpiece module 104 is inserted into the segment 82 and the intermediate point of the module 104 is cut.
