Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a torque converter including a clutch having a rough surface to connect friction material.SOLUTION: This invention comprises a step for forming a turbine shell including a first surface having a first roughness and including a first annular portion forming the most-outside portion in a radial direction of the turbine shell; a step for fixing the first several blades to the turbine shell; a step for forming an impeller shell including a second annular portion provided with a second surface having a second roughness; a step for fixing several second blades to the impeller shell; a step for removing at least a part of the first surface or the second surface without using either particulate substance or liquid; a step for increasing either the first roughness of either the first surface or the second surface where at least a part of it is removed; a step for coating adhesive agent to either the first surface or the second surface in which at least a part of it is removed; and a step for connecting the friction material to either the first surface or the second surface by adhesive agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
