Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a method for marking a lens for an eye adaptable to various lens materials, capable of giving a clear mark from which no coloring material leaches and not causing the cracking or staining of the lens. CONSTITUTION:A screen with a pattern corresponding to a mark such as a desired letter, figure or symbol is brought into contact with the surface of a lens 16 for an eye and an org. solvent capable of swelling the material of the lens 16 or a printing soln. consisting of the org. solvent and a thickener is applied to a prescribed part of the surface of the lens 16 through the screen to swell the applied part. Gently inclined recesses 12 and protrusions 14 are formed with the mesh of the screen and a mark 10 is given to the surface of the lens 16.
