PURPOSE: To cut out a specified amount of a material to be measured automatically, by contacting a dielectric whose permittivity is equivalently about 1 with a metal contact plate, compressing the material to be measured such as a piece of meat, and measuring electric capacity between said material to be measured and the contact plate.

CONSTITUTION: Under the state a dielectric 11 whose permittivity is about 1 is placed between a piece of meat 1 and a contact plate 4, the piece of meat 1 is contacted with the contact plate 4. A pushing plate 9a of a feeding device 9 is contacted with the other side of the piece of meat 1 with respect to the contact plate 4. Under this state, the amount to be cut of the piece of meat 1 is set by an inputting means 7 and inputted into a microcomputer 6. The electric capacity between the contact plate 4 and the piece of meat 1 is measured by an electric capacity meter 5 and the area of the material to be measured is obtained. In this way, a thickness to be cut can be obtained and a specified amount of the material to be measured such as the piece of meat can be automatically cut out.
