Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure the forward slip of a hot rolling mill without dispersion even if the rolling speed is quick. CONSTITUTION:The rotary angle of a work roll 1 from the biting time of a stand to the biting time of a rear-stage stand is obtained. The dead times between load cells 11 and 12 and load relays 13 and 14 are computed based on the rolling loads from the load cells 11 and 12 of the front and rear stands. The angular velocities of the work roll at the times of the bitings at the front stage and the rear stage are measured. The rotary angles of the work roll at the front stage and the rear stage within the dead times are obtained. Then, the rotary angles of the work roll obtained before are corrected. The forward slip is computed based on the corrected rotary angles of the work roll.
