Abstract:

To obtain a method for measuring the friction between a strand solidified shell and a mold when a continuous casting with an oscillating mold is executed.

While using hydraulic cylinders doubly acting in the center state, the pressures in two chambers of the whole oscillating cylinders and the lifting positions of the pistons corresponding to these pressures are beforehand measured at the decided number of times of the measurements. Then, from these data, the friction forces acted between the strand solidified shell and the mold wall at all points of times are calculated.
