PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring the round trip time (RTT) of a data packet reception side fast with high reliability. SOLUTION: The method of measuring the round trip time (RTT) of the data packet reception side communicating with a transmission side through a network by using transmission control protocol (TCP), includes the steps of: transmitting a confirmation response for a currently received data packet to the transmission side; measuring the 1st time when the confirmation response is sent; triggering the transmission of a data packet expected on the transmission side; measuring the 2nd time when the expected data packet is received; and calculating a round trip time measured value according to the measured 1st time and 2nd time.
