Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure precisely the shape of a high-temperature strip-shaped body such as a hot rolled metal thin plate of steel, titanium, aluminum or the like in a non-contact manner. CONSTITUTION:The vibration excited by excitation or disturbance in a strip- shaped body on which a tensile force is impressed is detected at a plurality of points in the width direction of the strip-shaped body. When vibration data having the information on an amplitude and a frequency extracted therefrom meet criteria of determination determined beforehand, the shape of the strip- shaped body is measured by using the vibration data. When they do not meet the criteria, the tensile force is impressed further till the vibration data meet the criteria, and then the shape of the strip-shaped body is measured by using the vibration data extracted from the vibration detected again.
