Abstract:
PURPOSE: To safely melt and cast a magnesium alloy excellent in lightening and heat resistance and having active molten state in a high productivity.
CONSTITUTION: The active magnesium alloy is melted in the molten state selected from group composed of Mg-Li alloy, Mg-Y series alloy and Mg-RE alloy under protecting atmosphere in a closed type crucible 3 providing an immersion type electromagnetic pump 4. This molten metal is directly poured into a mold with the immersion type electromagnetic pump 4. By this method, the active magnesium alloy is melted and cast in the molten state.
