Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting method of a non-ferrous metal, with which the thermal efficiency is improved by utilizing the characteristic of an oxygen burner and also, the produced quantity of dross is restrained to low and further, the service life of refractory material can be extended.
SOLUTION: The melting method for the non-ferrous metal, in which the non-ferrous metal is melted with the oxygen burner to obtain the molten metal having the desired temp., is made to satisfy the following four conditions, i.e., a first condition, in which a nozzle 11 for oxygen burner is arranged in a through hole 12 in the melting part 3 of a furnace body 1 in a way that the tip part of the nozzle 11 is disposed at the outer side than the inner surface of the malting part 3 and further, an uncombustion-reacting part provided at the base part side of flame, is disposed in the in the melting part 3, a second condition, in which plural pieces of oxygen burners are disposed with the interval in the peripheral direction of the melting part 3 and an oscillating function is arranged in each oxygen burner, a third condition, in which a control for selecting either oxidizing or reducing atmosphere in the combustion chamber in the melting part 3 serving as a control for holding O2 concn. or CO concn. remaining in the combustion chamber to 0-2%, are provided, and a fourth condition, in which the opening hole area of the furnace body 1 is made to be ≤1/4 of the opening hole area of the furnace body for air burner.
