To provide a simply structured chair for neatly fixing the end of a mesh sheet with tension along a frame where the end of the mesh sheet is fixed in spreading and installing the mesh sheet on the seating face and the backrest of the chair.

The method comprises: (a) a step of fixing the end of a mesh sheet M on the fixing positions of support members 21a, 21b where the mesh sheet M is to be fixed following the shape of the members 21a, 21b in a condition where the mesh sheet M is loose; (b) a step of applying tension to the mesh sheet M by inserting a tensioning member 3 between the back face of the mesh sheet M and the members 21a, 21b covered by the mesh sheet M; and (c) a step of fixing the member 3 on the members 21a, 21b by a fixing means F.
