Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain fillers with storage stability by a method wherein surface modification of oxide or silicate fillers is performed by a two-stage process using specified organosilicone compounds.
CONSTITUTION: A natural or synthetic, oxide or silicate filler (A) is intensively mixed with an organosilicon compd. (B) of formula [wherein B is -SCN (when q=1) or -Sx (when q=2); R and R1 are each a 1-4C alkyl, a phenyl, etc.; n is 0, 1 or 2; Alk is a 1-6C divalent hydrocarbon; m is 0 or 1; Ar is a 6-12C arylene; p is 0 or 1; x is 2-8] at a temp. of 60°C or lower under a concn. of 3.5×10-6 mol or lower trialkoxysilyl group per 1 m2 surface of the ingredient A. Then, hydrophobing reaction of the homogenized mixture is performed in a preheated mixer in a reactor such as heat treating floor at 60°C or higher.
