Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to prepare mixture with stable quality without fear such as dust explosion and the like due to fine dust-size particle by a method wherein granular mixture is produced by granulating slurry-like mixture into granules after being subjected to liquid extraction.

CONSTITUTION: Slurry-like mixture, which is produced by mixing wiskers and matrix metal powder with organic solvent, is liquid extracted. After that, by adding with binder and kneading said mixture is granulated into granules having the diameter of about 0.5W1 mm so as to obtain granular mixture 2 by drying in order to feed to an injection molder 20 under vacuum atmosphere. The matrix metal is heated up to a temperature, at which both the solid phase and liquid phase of the metal are present each other, or higher in the gap between an injection cylinder barrel 11 and a screw rotor 12 of the molder. At the same time, the matrix metal is injection-molded from the injection nozzle of the molder into a mold so as to obtain a molded item with required shape. Further, in order to dry the granular mixture 2, the mixture is dried by being heated up to a temperature near the melting point of the matrix metal. Furthermore, after being injected in the mold, the matrix metal is compressed with the mold in order to obtain the molded item.
