Title:
METHOD OF MOUNTING SEAL SLEEVE ON TURBINE ROTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57186003
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To dispense with the shrinkage fitting of a thrust bearing collar and a coupling flange which have a larger diameter than a seal sleeve, by dividing the seal sleeve into segments at circumferential intervals, coupling the segments together around the shaft of a turbine rotor and shrinkage-fitting the segments on the fitted part of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:A seal sleeve 1 is divided into segments at circumferential intervals. The segments are then made into a ring by welding 5 around a small- diameter part between a thrust bearing collar 3 and a shaft seal 4. The ring is then moved onto the shaft seal 4 and shrinkage-fitted thereon. According to this method, the thrust bearing collar 3 and a coupling flange 7 which have a larger diameter than the sleeve 1 do not need to be shrinkage-fitted. This results in greatly heightening the reliability of the machine.
