Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for needling a material web by which considerably higher production speeds can be achieved in comparison with needling methods of the prior art by using customary needling apparatuses.
CONSTITUTION: A material web 9 is guided at a predetermined speed over a plurality of needle rollers 1 in a method for needling the material web 9. The needle rollers 1 are composed so as to rotate about the longitudinal axis 3 thereof as the center and arranged in the transverse direction from the direction of movement of the material web 9. Furthermore, the material web 9 respectively covers a part of the surface of each of the needle rollers 1. The circumferential speed of the needle rollers 1 is set relative to the speed of the material web 9 in such a way that the desired amount of needling with freely adjustable stretching in the longitudinal direction of the material web 9 is obtained.
