To provide an omitting method of the front and the rear ends for improving yield by eliminating unnecessary omission by always recognizing the proper amount of omission and also ensuring the quality of the wire rod by which abnormal quality part is surely omitted and a cutting device therefor.

The rolled wire rod 17 is driven into the main body little by little from an end part with a hydraulic cutter which is a cutting device 20 and cut and the front and the rear end parts of the rolled wire rod is omitted until the pressurizing force of the hydraulic cutter necessary to cut the rolled wire rod becomes the target value. A pressure gage 26 for indicating the pressurizing force is provided on the hydraulic cutter.
