To provide a method for operating an air quality purifier with a photocatalytic member containing fluoride-containing titanium oxide, which secures a light quantity required for a catalytic reaction to the photocatalytic member containing the fluoride-containing titanium oxide, and suppressing the deterioration of fluoride concentration in the photocatalytic member containing the fluoride-containing titanium oxide even under a high-temperature and high-humidity condition.
The air quality purifier includes: the photocatalytic member containing at least the fluoride-containing titanium oxide; a light source for radiating UV light; and a fan. During the operation shutdown period of the purifier, the photocatalytic member is intermittently irradiated with the UV ray every prescribed hour, and also cooled when the surface temperature of the photocatalytic member reaches a prescribed value or more.
