To provide a method of operating a fuel feeder in an engine which uses two or more different fuels such as gasoline and ethanol and to which the user does not need to supply two or more different fuels.
This method of operating a fuel feeder comprises a separation step 140 of so separating a fuel vapor 172 including at least an alcohol component and a hydrocarbon component into a first fuel 177 and a second fuel 178 that the first fuel includes the fuel vapor and an alcoholic component higher in concentration than the second fuel, a compression step 150 of compressing the separated first fuel 177 to move the first fuel from a gaseous phase state to a liquid phase, and a feed step of feeding the first fuel 179 in the state of compressed liquid phase to an engine 120 to burn the fuel in the engine 120.
