Abstract:
To reduce fuel cost in a rotary kiln whose interior is heated by combustion heat of a fossil fuel such as fuel oil and dust coal while avoiding excessive advance of reduction treatment in a reduction furnace on a downstream side of the rotary kiln.SOLUTION: A method for operating a rotary kiln 1 which is a heating furnace configured to heat the interior thereof by combustion heat of a fossil fuel, and in which a reduction furnace that carries out reduction treatment is connected on a downstream process side. A part of the fossil fuel loaded into the rotary kiln 1 is replaced with RPF.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
