To efficiently produce coarse aggregate and fine aggregate while suppressing production of aggregate with an angular shape and at the same time production of fine powder with 150 μm or smaller in the case of producing aggregate by crushing raw rocks of such as granite by a vertical type crusher.

In a crushed sand-producing vertical type crusher for producing crushed sand by crushing raw rocks supplied on the upper face of a rotation table between the upper face of the rotation table and the circumference of a crushing roller, the crushing roller is so operated as to control the crushing pressure for pushing the crushing roller against the upper face of the rotation table to be in a range from 1 kgf/cm2 to 15 kgf/cm2 and consequently, coarse aggregate and fine aggregate can efficiently be produced while production of the rectangular aggregate being suppressed and at the same time production of a fine powder with a size of 150 μm or smaller, which is unsuitable as aggregate, being suppressed.
