Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform service discovery in a pervasive wireless network.
SOLUTION: A network device (CL1) is set in a first state for accessing a remote device (SR2) to obtain setup information for connection (a). Connection to the remote device (SR2) is set up, a second state for retrieving information related to a service provided by the remote device (SR2) is set, and discovered information is needed to form connection to the remote device (SR2) and to use a related service (b). The device (CL1) releases retrieved service information and actively transfers the retrieved service information to other devices (CL2 arid SR3), and the other devices (CL2 and SR3) include an access protocol and a service discovery protocol for setting a third state for updating a list of services available from devices (CL and SR) connected to the pervasive network (WLAN) (c).
