PURPOSE: To positively pick up the minimum required amount of a sample, by providing a shielding plate at the lower part of the end part of an upstream main belt conveyer, moving a pickup belt conveyer into the part under the shielding plate, and transferring the conveyed material.

CONSTITUTION: An upstream main belt conveyer 11 conveys a conveyed material from the left side. A hut shaped shielding plate 12 is arranged in such a way that the plate can be moved back and forth quickly from a position (B) directly under the end part of the conveyer 11 to a position (A), which is separated in the direction of the running of the conveyer belt by a distance. A pickup belt conveyer 14 is mounted on a truck 16 and arranged so that the conveyer can be moved back and forth by the same distance under the shielding plate 12. The conveyer 14 moves to the position (B) simultaneously with the movement of the shielding plate 12, and picks up the conveyed material when the shielding plate 12 is moved back. The conveyer 14 excludes the inadequate part at the end of the sampled conveyed material, picks up the adequate amount of the a sample out of the adequate part of the intermediate part, and drops it on a sample belt conveyer 18 through a chute 17.
