REDUCING/ENLARGING METHOD FOR PICTURE INFORMATION

PURPOSE:To convert the magnification between device systems different in resolution by combining a data processing part provided with a hardware function and a microprogram control part provided with a software function to perform optional magnification conversion of picture information data. CONSTITUTION:The reducing/enlarging magnification of picture information is set to a host CPU 1 which controls the whole of a system. A microprogram control part 2 takes mainly charge of the software processing, and a status signal input part 3 checks an effective signal inputted to and outputted from a reducing/enlarging circuit 7. One of external memory interface parts is used as an external memory I/F part 5 for input, and the other is used as an external memory I/F part 6 for output. Original data 9 inputted from the I/F part 5 is inputted to the circuit 7 through a bus 2a and is subjected to reducing/ enlarging conversion based on a reducing/enlarging magnification coefficient value 8 and is outputted as output data 10 from the internal bus 2a to the external memory I/F part 6.
