To provide a method for positioning an assembly fixture when the assembly fixture composed of a number of components is arranged on a surface plate, by which the positioning accuracy is improved and the time necessary for the positioning is shortened.
The positioning method of the assembly fixture according is achieved, using: the surface plate 10 on which the assembly fixture supporting a workpiece is arranged; a robot arm 20 which has a three dimensional movement mechanism at the tip end thereof and designates an expected arrangement position of the workpiece to be arranged on the surface plate 10;and a robot arm control unit 30 for controlling the robot arm 20 such that the tip end of the robot arm 20 designates the expected arrangement position of the workpiece.
