Title:
METHOD FOR POURING THERMITE WELDING METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3515805
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the quality of welding by eliminating the variance of time which, starts the pouring of molten metal in a thermite welding.
CONSTITUTION: Detecting terminals 9 for molten metal composed of one pair of insulated electric conducting materials are inserted into the inner part or the outer edge part of bottom layer part in thermite solvents 1 piled through a flow-out hole 4 from the bottom part of a crucible. Further, a flat plate 5 is in the closely contacting condition with the bottom surface 27 of the crucible to close the flow-out hole 4, and thermite reaction is started and then, at 10-35sec after shortening the circuit by melting the detecting terminals 9 when the reaction reaches the bottom part of the crucible, the flat plate 5 is instantially slided in the horizontal direction and the flow-out hole 4 is opened to pour the molten metal.
