To achieve a technique that predicts the calving period of livestock.SOLUTION: A device for predicting the calving period of livestock (10) includes: an analysis section (14) that segregates electrocardiographic data representing the time-based changes over a predetermined period in heart rate information from electrocardiograms measured in the subject livestock, into diurnal variability components, trend components, and residual components; and a prediction section (15) that predicts the calving period of the subject livestock on the basis of an inflection point in the trend components determined by the analysis part (14).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
