Title:
METHOD FOR PREDICTING EARTHQUAKE BY MONITORING DISLOCATING DISPLACEMENT AND VOLUME DISPLACEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3243499
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately predict and evaluate the occurrence time, range, and magnitude of an earthquake by comprehending the behavior process and mechanism where an yield sliding phenomenon is generated through dislocation.
SOLUTION: A dislocation fine displacement meter 4 is placed in a hole well 3 that crosses dislocation 2 existing in a transform 1 by punching, while sandwiching the dislocation 2, and a volume displacement meter 5 is placed in a continuous bedrock part that does not hold the dislocation 2 in the hole well 3. The dislocation fine displacement meter 4 holds the dislocation surface for three-dimensionally measuring a relative change in both bedrocks, and the volume displacement meter 5 evaluates the stress change from to the measurement of volume change in the bedrock near the dislocation. Based on the measurement data, changes such as the deformation rate is identified as the changes in an earthquake forerunning phenomenon for evaluating the occurrence timing and the degree of occurrence danger of an earthquake.
