Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of predicting a trailing edge flap fault in an aircraft having a trailing edge flap system including multiple trailing edge flaps and a flap position sensor.SOLUTION: A method includes: receiving a position signal from a position sensor 28 indicative of the position of at least one of trailing edge flaps 20; comparing the position signal to a reference position value to define a position comparison; determining a variation parameter; and providing an indication for prediction of a trailing edge flap failure on the basis of the variation comparison.
