Abstract:
To provide a method of easily, inexpensively, and accurately determining therapeutic efficacy (whether complete remission will be achieved or not) or improvement in symptoms prior to administering biological drugs to a rheumatoid arthritis patient.SOLUTION: Therapeutic efficacy (improvement in symptoms or possibility of achieving remission) on a rheumatoid arthritis patient can be easily, inexpensively, and accurately determined at any facilities prior to administering biological drugs targeting inflammatory cytokines by making use of serum concentration of one or more substances selected from a group consisting of: sgp130, IP-10, sTNFRI, sTNFRII, GM-CSF, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, IL-9, IL-10, IL-12, IL-13, IL-15, Eotaxin, VEGF, MCP-1, TNF-α, IFN-γ, FGFbasic, PDGF-bb, sIL-6R, and MIP-1α.SELECTED DRAWING: None
