Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method to suppress oxidation and execute efficient preheating when iron scrap is preheated.
CONSTITUTION: Fine iron ore and iron scrap 6 are supplied in a horizontal rotary hearth furnace 1 and heated. Fine iron ore is preliminarily preheated by discharge gas, and the scrap 6 and the preheated fine iron ore are charged in the horizontal rotary hearth furnace 1. The preheated scrap and the fine iron ore are supplied into an top-blown converter 2 to be melted and reduced. Alternatively, the fine iron ore is separated from the iron scrap, and used in a circulating manner as the heating medium.
