To provide a method of preparing a blast furnace coal capable of providing the blast furnace coal suppressing attachment of a blast furnace charcoal ash and the like in a route to a tuyere of a blast furnace body while suppressing reduction of a calorific value in spite of containing coal having a low ash melting point.
A first coal kind and a second coal kind which satisfy requirement A and B respectively are selected based on data obtained by analysis of the coal (S2, S3) and the ash melting point of a mixed coal obtained by mixing the first and second coal kinds is calculated based on a quaternary system phase diagram of SiO2-CaO-MgO-20%Al2O3 (S4), an additive agent which makes the ash melting point of the mixed coal become 1400°C or more with the smallest amount when added to the mixed coal is selected from SiO2, MgO or CaO on the basis of the ash melting point of the mixed coal and the quaternary system phase diagram (S5) and an addition amount of the additive agent is calculated (S6), the first coal kind and the second coal kind are mixed to be the mixed coal (S7) and the additive agent is added to the mixed coal with the addition amount (S8).
