Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the leakage of the current from metallic rolls to the ground by regulating the current distribution to respective electrolytic cells to specify the ground potential of energizing rolls at a prescribed values or below. CONSTITUTION:The energizing rolls 1 and electrodes 2 of the respective electrolytic cells 3a to 3f are disposed symmetrically between the cells adjacent to each other at the time of the electrolytic treatment of a strip. The ground potential of the respective energizing rolls 1 is inputted to an automatic cell current regulating device 8 in which the prescribed ground potential is previously set. This ground potential is compared with the set value. The current distribution is regulated via controllers 9 for the current of current rectifiers provided in each of the electrolytic cells successively from the upstream side to the down stream side of the line to adjust the ground potential of the respective energizing rolls 1 to the prescribed value or below for the electrolytic cell, the ground potential of which is decided by an automatic cell current regulator 8 to exceed the set value. The control of the ground potential of the metallic rolls, such as energizing rolls 2 and earth rolls 7, near to zero is possible in this way and the electrolytic corrosion and local heat generation by the leakage of the current to the ground are prevented.
