Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the odor development from the flocculated sludge obtained by flocculating the biologically treated water.
SOLUTION: The flocculated sludge 14 is obtained by flocculating the water 8 treated biologically in a biological treating facility 2 in a flocculating and settling facility 6. The aqueous solution containing a nitrate or a nitrite such as a sodium nitrate aqueous solution 20 is added to the sludge 14 from a nitrate introducing mechanism 18 in a flocculated sludge storage tank 16. As a result, a malodorous gas such as hydrogen sulfide and methylthiol is restrained from being developed from the flocculated sludge in the tank 16 and in a sludge dehydrator 26.
