Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the oxidation of metal powder when this metal powder is produced by water atomization.

CONSTITUTION: When metal powder is produced from a molten metal by water atomization, an aq. soln. contg. an org. acid is used as an atomizing medium. An amino acid is preferably used as the org. acid and the org. acid may be used in combination with benzotriazoles. The pH of the aq. soln. is preferably adjusted to a range of ≥7. The oxidation of the metal powder can be prevented.
