PURPOSE: To enable tapering treatment without laid down fiber even in the case of a napped fabric composed of fine pile yarn, sharpen the tips of fuzz and process the subject fabric by applying a specific coating liquid to a fuzz surface layer of the napped fabric according to a noncontact method and heat- treating the resultant fabric.
CONSTITUTION: A coating liquid, containing an alkali and a paste and having 10-800 P viscosity is applied to the fuzz surface layer part of a napped fabric having fuzz composed of polyester-based fiber according to a noncontact method and heat treatment is then performed to process the objective fabric. Furthermore, the aforementioned noncontact method is preferably a slit die coating or reverse coating and the coating liquid preferably contains a weight reduction accelerator.
