PURPOSE: To prevent variance of processing performance even when an amount of color developing solution to be replenished is reduced by incorporating a specified compound in a bleaching agent in a process of color developing a photosensitive material containing a specified yellow coupler and then processing it with a solution having bleaching ability.
CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive material containing at least one of oleophilic divalent yellow couplers represented by formula I is color developed and processed with the bleaching solution containing as the bleaching agents at least one of the compounds selected from the ferric complex salts A of ethylenediamine tetraacetate and the like and that B of 1,3-diaminopropane tetraacetate in a molar ratio A/B of ≤3:1. In formula I, each of RI and RII is a group substitutable on the benzene ring; RIII is H or the like; (m) is 0 or an integer of 1W5; (n) is 0 or an integer of 1W4; and X is a group releasable by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, thus permitting a large amount of replenishing solution to be reduced and stable performance to be ensured.
