PURPOSE: To prevent the color fadability of a cyan dye and to improve the stability and fastness of a bleach-fix bath by using the ferric complex salt of a specific compd. as a bleaching agent, using iodide or thicyanate as a fixing agent, processing the photosensitive material with a processing liquid contg. thiosulfate, and specifying the respective concns. thereof.

CONSTITUTION: The ferric complex salt of the compd. expressed by the formula I or II is incorporated at least at 0.03mol/l and the iodide and/or thiocyanate at ≥1mol/l into the bleach-fix bath and the photosensitive material is processed by the processing liquid contg. ≥0.03mol/l thiosulfate after bleach fixing. In the formulas I, II, A1, to A4 denote -CH2OH, -COOM, etc.; M denotes a hydrogen atom, sodium, etc.; X denotes 3 to 6C alkylene group; B1, B2 denote 2 to 5C alkylene group. The rapid and stable bleach-fix bath is obtd. in this way and the generation of color fading of the cyan dye by preservation after the processing is prevented.
