PURPOSE: To provide the method for processing the photosensitive material capable of sharply reducing waste plastic packing materials, an amount of waste water, and an amount of water to be used and superior in aptitudes to social environment and operation environment, improved in stability of a processing solution and, especially, storage stability of an image, and restrained at the same time from occurrence of stains on the unexposed parts of the photo sensitive material.

CONSTITUTION: This processing method is characterized by adding a part or all of the overflowing solution of a process following a processing process having fixing ability to the process having the fixing ability, and adding a solid processing agent to a processing solution in the process having the fixing ability or to the overflowing solution of the following process, preferably, and characterized by that the solution of the following process contains substantially no formaldehyde, and the process having the fixing ability is a fixing process or a bleach-fixing process. It is preferred that the overflowing solution in the case of processing papers is ≤660ml/m2 and those in the case of negative films is ≤2000ml/m2.
