To provide the method for processing the photosensitive material remarkably reduced in an amount of waste solution in a rinsing or a stabilizing process in the case of a processing process required for ≤50sec for the total processes from a start of development to the end of drying and superior in an operational efficiency.
The photosensitive material is processed in an automatic developing machine having developing and fixing and rinsing and drying processes, and the developing bath contains a hydrazine compound, and the rinsing process is composed of 2 or more-stage counter-current system, and a ratio of a fixing agent concentration of the rinsing bath most upstream and ajacent to the fixing bath to that of the last downstream rinsing bath is allowed to satisfy the following expressions: 6≤Ci/Cf≤300, and Cf≤2.5%, where Ci is the fixing agent concentration in the most upstream rinsing bath and Cf is that of the last downstream rinsing bath. A replenishing rate for the rinsing or stabilizing solution is controlled to 50-400ml per 1m2 of the photosensitive material.
