Abstract:

To provide a method for producing 11-chlorodibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine, which can improve the quality, yield and liquid-separating property of the 11-chlorodibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine and can improve the efficiency of workability in an industrial scale.

There is provided the method for producing 11-chlorodibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine, comprising: a step of reacting dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepin-11(10H)-one with phosphorus oxychloride in the presence of an organic base; and a step of cleaning the reaction mixture containing the 11-chlorodibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine obtained in the process with an organic base or an inorganic base.
